Armenian Cucumber – 5 Seeds

The Armenian cucumber is a type of long, slender cucumber. It is also known as the yard-long cucumber, snake cucumber, snake melon,tharr in Pakistan, kakri in India, atta in Egypt, mekti in Lebanon, feggous or fakkous in Morocco, acur in Turkey, φακούσι (fakoosi) in Cyprus and uri in Japan.

Their skin is very thin, light green, and no bitterness and the fruit doesn’t need to be peeled. They grows approximately 50-80cm long. It grows well on the ground or on a trellis as well. The plants prefer to grow in full sun for most of the day. The fruit is most flavorful when it is 12-15 inches long.

It is said by Hasselquist to be the “queen of cucumbers, refreshing, sweet, solid, and wholesome.”

They are very easy to grow & easy to maintain.

Best time to sow them after frost. Seeds need min 20°C to germinate. Soak the seeds in water for a few hours before planting and sow them in a sunny, well-drained position. Germinates in 2 weeks.
